Having studied Fine Arts at University followed by working in several of London’s auction houses I have always had an appreciation of old treasures.
Furniture painting began for me out of a desire to recycle my own tired furniture, and I get a lot of satisfaction out of transforming kerbside and op-shop finds into beautiful pieces that are also suitable for modern living.
Exploring the world of chalk paint has led me to fall in love with other creative endeavours such as fabric painting and dyeing, stenciling, decoupage, furniture transfers and more and I am passionate about sharing these skills with others through teaching both in person and online, community talks and other events. Teaching
I help people learn how to beautify their own furniture through my chalk painting workshops. These are designed to be both fun and educational and we use eco-friendly chalk paints and non-toxic materials designed for the conscious upcycler. Workshops are based in my Sydney studio (details below).
Small Group Talks
I’m passionate about furniture upcycling, helping people keep heirlooms in the family and working with what you have rather than buying new. With a touch of paint you can add so much charm and character to your home.
I give talks to community groups on the benefits of recycling furniture, how to figure out which pieces are suitable for painting …and how to get started! I’m available for speaking to small community groups or in your own home.
Please use the form on this page to contact me and we can discuss your needs.
The Studio is located in Seaforth and is open by appointment for consultations, paint sales and of course workshops!
