FURNITURE PAINTING – 1:1 TUITION
About this workshop:
This is a 1:1 painting session where you will be personally guided through the furniture painting and refinishing process.
If you’ve always wanted to learn how to breathe new life into your furniture but you aren’t sure where to start, then this session is perfect for you. Do you want to update that bedside cabinet, chair or mirror that you’ve had for ages, or update a family heirloom?
What should I bring?
For a 1:1 session we suggest bringing a few smallish pieces to work on, for example a chair, side table, bedside, trunk, stool, mirror, tray, etc. that way you get to try out a few different colours and styles. Make sure they are sturdy and wipe them down if very dirty. You will do the other preparation to your piece at the beginning of the workshop.
If you have a larger piece of furniture you wish to tackle, or would prefer to work from your own home, please let me know as depending on your location I may be able to come to you.
What is provided in the workshop?
Your choice of eco-friendly Australian made Artisan Paint (Natural Chalk Finish), waxes and finishes, and all other materials and tools that you require to complete your projects.
Morning and afternoon and drinks will be provided, you just need to bring something for lunch. Please advise of any dietary restrictions/allergies in advance.
What should I wear?
Aprons are provided but it’s best if you wear old clothes in case of paint splatter. Please wear closed toe shoes.
Where is Sarah Macaulay Studio located?
The Studio is at 18 Judith Street, Seaforth (this is in the north part of Seaforth just off Wakehurst Parkway). Please park on the street outside number 18 and come up the drive, along the right-hand side of the house and through the gate. You will see the backyard studio and I will look forward to welcoming you!
If you are running late for the workshop I would be grateful if you could please give me a call on 0421 962831. Thank you.
