Thank you for visiting my site.

I love rescuing old and unwanted furniture and bringing it back to life.

I live in Sydney’s Northern Beaches area and have a home studio where I work accompanied by my two inquisitive cats. I also trade through a shop called 414 Interiors & Homewares in North Manly, an interesting collective of local artists who all bring something unique to the shop and I love being part of it.

I’m originally from Hertfordshire in the UK and relocated to Sydney in 2001. I’ve always enjoyed painting and crafts (I have a degree in Fine Arts from many moons ago!).

Furniture painting began for me out of a desire to recycle my own tired furniture, and I get a lot of satisfaction out of transforming kerbside and op shop finds into beautiful pieces that are also suitable for modern living. So many reclaimed goods were made to last, and with a little bit of love and paint these can be used for generations to come.

I’ve lucky enough to have learnt chalk painting and decorative techniques from some excellent teachers both in Australia and the UK, and I am passionate about sharing those skills with others. If you’re interested in learning some techniques, hop on over to my Workshops page for more information.

What I like about this new breed of chalk-based paints is that they are as eco-friendly as possible: water-based, very low-toxicity, free from nasty additives and entirely safe to have in your home and around children and pets. No horrible fumes and cleanup is easy.

I hope you like what you see and if you have any questions or comments I’d love to hear from you! You can reach me at
